  • Dan Fisher-Owens will be speaking at a one-day seminar on economic sanctions and export controls developments on November 28 2018 in Frankfurt, Germany.  Dan and EU lawyers will be discussing recent economic sanctions changes in the US and Europe, including the "snapback" of U.S. sanctions against Iran, the EU reaction, and updates on the Russia sanctions.  Hillary Hess from the Regulatory Policy Division of the Bureau of Industry and Security will lead the section on EAR export controls, focusing on recent updates, including the ongoing process of identifying "emerging and foundational technologies" for additional regulation under the EAR.  For information and registration, see https://www.ifs-institut.de/unsere-seminare/.
  • Perry Bechky will be speaking on November 16 at the International Law Institute about national security reviewss of Chinese investment in light of new legislation (FIRRMA) and new CFIUS regulations.

  • Babak Hoghooghi is speaking on a panel organized by the Association of Certified Financial Crime Specialists about current developments in US economic sanctions.  Perry Bechky is moderating.  The event will be held at Reed Smith LLP’s office in DC on November 13 from 12-2.  Attendance is free, but bring your own brownbag lunch.
